SMERALD is on track. A CPD Course is in the Air
As October draws to a close, the SMERALD project is gearing up for an exciting milestone this December in Palermo, Italy. The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course is set to be a four-day intensive collaboration and learning event for SME employees and project partners. Hosted by our partners at CNR under the guidance of Davide Taibi, this event will provide participants with the competences needed to embrace digital transformation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) in their work.
What’s happening in Palermo?
The CPD course is carefully crafted to deliver actionable outcomes. Combining theoretical foundations with hands-on activities, the course will empower participants with the competences they need to excel in their respective fields.
Here’s what you need to know about the 4-day agenda:
- Day 1: Introductions, stocktaking results, and an overview of AI tools, setting the stage for learning.
- Day 2: You will complete practical exercises and familiarise yourself with AI tools, exploring how to develop subject-specific content.
- Day 3: Participants will collaborate to develop prototypes or frameworks tailored to their specific job roles and organisational needs.
- On Day 4: The outcomes will be presented and discussions will take place on implementing the developed concepts in future pilots.
The use of the Design Thinking approach will ensure that the event is interactive, problem-solving oriented, and aligned with real-world applications.
Starting the Collaboration Online
An online pre-meeting is scheduled for November to maximise the effectiveness of the course. Participants will arrive in Palermo ready to collaborate and engage. The pre-meeting sets the tone for a collaborative atmosphere, which is essential for tackling challenges and co-developing innovative solutions during the training.
Why this matter
The CPD course is designed to do more than just inform; it will enable participants to develop competences that combine knowledge, skills, and attitudes for addressing the digital challenges in their workplaces. By focusing on job-specific prototypes and frameworks, the course ensures that outcomes are not only theoretical but also directly applicable.
The event also fosters networking, innovation and collaboration, equipping SMEs and other stakeholders with the tools and strategies to integrate AI and data analytics effectively into their workflows. This focus on practical applicability aligns with SMERALD’s mission to drive digital transformation across Europe.
Stay tuned for updates and highlights as we prepare for this transformative event. December in Palermo is going to be a time of growth, learning, and innovation, where participants will shape solutions tailored to their unique professional contexts.
This is a step forward in unlocking the full potential of AI for SMEs.
