On January 23rd and 24th 2025 our partnership including experts from Sweden, France, Portugal, Bulgaria and Germany gathered in Göttingen (Germany) for the Participa City project kick-off event, launching a collaborative effort to enhance participation of ethnic and cultural minorities in Europe through simulation techniques and gamified learning.

The event opened with a welcoming session and icebreaker, fostering connections among participants. Discussions on the projects workplan set the stage for collaboration, followed by an introduction to the simulation game, a tool designed to enhance participation in Europe. Participants engaged in two rounds of the game, with role-based reflections in between, allowing for deeper insights into decision-making dynamics. The day concluded with a discussion on potential applications of the game and next steps.

Moving forward, the partnership will focus on conducting a transnational analysis on racism prevention in Europe and developing a train-the-trainer course on the game’s methodology. This initiative aims to equip facilitators with the tools to foster inclusive and participatory governance across diverse communities in Europe.
