That Was the Final Conference – SMERALD Wrap-Up
On 21 October 2025 at 16:30 CEST, the SMERALD project reached its milestone moment: the Final Conference & Award Ceremony. Held online, this event brought together partners, SMEs, VET professionals, and stakeholders to reflect on how artificial intelligence, data analysis and digital tools are driving transformation across Europe’s SMEs.
A Moment of Reflection & Forward Motion
The session opened with a bold statement: “The future of SMEs is digital – are you ready?” It set the tone for an event that didn’t just look back at project achievements, but also forward to how these can be sustained, scaled and adapted.
Key moments included:
- A synthesis of what the SMERALD piloting revealed: how SMEs can use AI and data effectively, when the learning is competence-based and grounded in real work.
- Expert voices and partner reflections on how the competence framework, the CPD blueprint and the platform will live beyond the project.
- An Award Ceremony recognising participants and organisations who embraced experimentation, collaborative learning and innovation.
Turning Outputs into Outcomes
The conference didn’t simply present results—it put them into motion. Attendees left with:
- A clear view of how the SMERALD modules (AI, Data Analysis, Design Thinking, LEVEL5 etc.) interlink into a learning path.
- Practical guidance on how to integrate the SMERALD platform and competence-oriented methods into their own organisations.
- Invitations to join networks, pilot new formats and continue collaboration beyond 2025.
Thank You & What Comes Next
A major theme of the closing remarks was continuity. Although the EU funding period is ending, the SMERALD legacy is built to last. The platform remains accessible. The methodology is transferable. The learning loop continues.
