On 1 October 2025, the annual Kartoffelfest in Reinhausen provided a lively and engaging setting for a dissemination event linked to the GEA – Green Education Activities project. Hosted by the Waldpädagogisches Zentrum Reinhausen, the celebration focuses on sustainability and environmental education—making it an ideal platform to promote the project’s themes
During the event, the project team set up an interactive stand featuring posters, information leaflets and hands-on activities for visitors. One popular activity was the creation of seed balls, which captured the interest of children and families. Meanwhile, a live demonstration of bio-char production using a small stove drew attention and provoked discussion among adult attendees
In addition to the activities, the organisers offered short thematic inputs and encouraged informal exchanges between the public and project representatives. These dialogues fostered awareness about community-based environmental action and lifelong learning in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere
The event exemplified how local traditions can serve as effective platforms to inspire sustainability and public engagement. It underscored the project’s commitment to enabling citizens of all ages to take practical steps towards eco-friendly living.
