From 6–8 May 2025, the GBS project brought together adult educators from across Europe for a three-day training in Almada, Portugal, hosted by our partner StoryTellMe. Under the theme “How to Facilitate the e-Studio: Green Business – a Way for Senior Citizens’ Self-Employment,” the event focused on preparing educators to guide and inspire seniors on their green entrepreneurship journey.

📍 Taking place at NOVALMADA VELHA, the programme combined expert sessions, collaborative workshops, and cultural exchange. A highlight of the first day was the keynote from Rita Pelica, founder of ONYOU, who shared practical insights into creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurship in adult learning.

Over the three days, participants explored the new Open Educational Resources developed in the project, learned innovative mentoring strategies, and practised running e-Studio sessions in hands-on simulations. The training also provided valuable space for reflection and exchange, strengthened by moments of connection, including a cultural dinner in Lisbon.
Educators left Almada with fresh perspectives on fostering a Growth Mindset—helping learners build resilience, adaptability, and confidence in pursuing their own business ideas. They also gained practical experience in using the digital platform and resources designed to support “silver entrepreneurs.” Many participants highlighted how the exchange of ideas across different cultural backgrounds enriched their learning and sparked creative approaches for their future training sessions.
The event closed with an evaluation and the awarding of certificates, marking an important step in preparing for the upcoming piloting phase in partner countries.
