Highlights of the ARIES training course
The ARIES project recently held a remarkable training course in Palermo, Italy, from 12 to 15 November. The four-day event brought together partners and educators from across Europe, including representatives from Italy, Germany, Lithuania and Greece. It provided an opportunity to explore the potential of augmented and immersive reality (AR/IR) tools to transform educational practice.
A hands-on journey into AR/IR
The course offered participants a fully immersive experience working directly with AR/IR tools. Through hands-on exercises, educators explored the practical applications of these technologies and discovered how they can enrich learning environments. From increasing student engagement to creating interactive content, the potential of AR/IR was both inspiring and functional.
Collaboration in action
Collaboration was at the heart of the professional development event. Participants used a team-based approach to develop innovative learning materials, supported by the design thinking methodology. The insights and materials developed during the event will become an integral part of ARIES’ broader mission to integrate AR/IR into European classrooms.
Keeping the momentum
The Palermo training is an important step in the ARIES journey, but it will not be the last. Participants are encouraged to take their new skills back to their schools and apply and share their knowledge in their local contexts. Through a ‘cascade training’ model, teachers will amplify the impact of ARIES by training their colleagues and supporting students with innovative learning experiences.
As the ARIES project continues, the results of this professional development course will play a crucial role in shaping future initiatives. With the tools, resources and insights gained in Palermo, the ARIES community is well equipped to drive educational innovation.
Stay tuned for updates as ARIES takes the next steps to bring Augmented and Immersive Reality to life in classrooms across Europe!
