Shaping the future of education

A new chapter starts with a pre-meeting

As excitement builds for the ARIES CPD (Continuing Professional Development) course in Palermo in November, we invite teachers to take the first step on this journey together. Before we meet in person, a virtual pre-meeting on 25 October at 14:30 CET will give participants the opportunity to break the ice, share ideas and connect with peers. It’s not just a meeting – it’s the start of a community united by a shared vision of transforming education through Augmented and Immersive Reality (A&IR).

What to expect in Palermo

Imagine entering a space teeming with ideas, innovation and collaboration. From 12-15 November, Palermo will be the meeting place where educators from different parts of Europe will come together to explore how A&IR can revolutionise their classrooms. This course, based on the Design Thinking methodology, promises to turn challenges into opportunities and ideas into actionable solutions.

The CPD storyline:

  • Day 1: Setting the stage
The first chapter begins with an understanding of the potential of A&IR tools such as Adobe Aero, Halo AR and CoSpace Edu. Through reflective discussion and hands-on practice, teachers will discover how these technologies can open new doors for their students.
  • Day 2: From ideas to concepts
The second day focuses on creativity and experimentation. Teachers will take their first steps in content creation and turn their challenges into mottos that inspire meaningful classroom pilots.
  • Day 3: Building a vision
Collaboration is the name of the game as participants work together to design and prototype classroom scenarios tailored to their subjects. This is where the magic of innovation happens.
  • Day 4: The road ahead
The story ends with a presentation of the group results, followed by discussions on how to bring these ideas to life in classrooms across Europe. Evaluation and feedback will ensure that the lessons of Palermo resonate well beyond the event.

Why it matters

This professional development course is not just about learning how to use A&IR tools, it is about imagining the future of education. It is about giving teachers the confidence and skills to create engaging, interactive, student-centred learning experiences.
