We are excited to share some highlights from our second transnational partner meeting, which took place on September 24-25, 2025, in the wonderful city of Lille, France. Our warm thanks go to our hosts at GrDr, whose outstanding organization and welcoming hospitality made the gathering especially memorable. The meeting proved highly productive in pushing forward the goals of the Participa City project.
A central focus of the meeting was the joint creation of new and engaging scenarios for the Participa City Game. Our partners exchanged rich insights and varied ideas, aiming to craft scenarios that authentically represent the real-world challenges of discrimination and exclusion faced by ethnic and cultural minorities across Europe. This collaborative effort was enhanced by incorporating intersectional perspectives to develop role-playing experiences that foster empathy and deeper understanding among players.
One of the major moments was the presentation of the latest transnational context analysis report. This report offers a detailed overview of systemic discrimination patterns impacting groups such as Roma communities, people of African descent, Muslims, migrants, and refugees. It highlights how structural discrimination appears in areas including education, housing, employment, public services, and justice systems across partner countries. These evidence-based findings form a crucial basis for adapting training materials and game content to address real issues effectively.
During the two-day meeting, vibrant discussions and collaborative workshops helped ensure all partners were aligned on next steps, such as finalizing scenario development, designing accompanying training resources, and preparing a two-stage training program for trainers and decision makers.
We once again extend our gratitude to GrDr for hosting and to all partners for their excellent contributions.
Stay connected for further updates as we continue this vital work to create a more inclusive society through Participa City!
