On March 17, 2026, the Regional Environmental Education Centre Reinhausen (RUZ) hosted a networking meeting for teachers involved in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) from the Southern Lower Saxony education region, including the districts of Göttingen and Northeim. The event provided a valuable platform for exchange and new ideas.

The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration within ESD. Schools benefit from both internal exchange and cooperation with external partners. Institutions like RUZ Reinhausen play a key role by offering hands-on learning environments and making sustainability topics tangible.

RUZ Reinhausen also presented its wide range of educational activities, demonstrating how non-formal learning settings can support schools and strengthen students’ competencies in shaping sustainable futures. A special focus was placed on the European project “UpSpace.” Funded by Erasmus+, the project connects schools from five countries, including Germany, Greece, Italy, and Serbia, fostering the exchange of innovative ideas and good practices in ESD.

The event underscored the value of regional and international cooperation and highlighted the important contribution of partners like RUZ Reinhausen in advancing sustainability education.
