As part of the GEA project, a roundtable with local residents was held on 10 September 2025 to discuss recent general decrees restricting water abstraction during low-flow periods. The meeting provided an open space to reflect on how these measures affect everyday life and how residents perceive their purpose and implementation.
Participants acknowledged the ecological necessity of temporary restrictions and noted that clear, uniform rules can help support compliance. At the same time, concerns were raised about practical implications, including uncertainty over exemptions and the need for more accessible explanations for the public.
Several ideas emerged to improve communication, such as publishing short, easy-to-understand summaries of the rules, outlining the conditions that trigger restrictions and offering seasonal water-saving advice. Participants also recommended closer coordination between districts to ensure consistent approaches across municipal boundaries.
